On May 9th, 2023, CPSC issued the final rule revising 16 CFR 1222, the Standard for Bedside Sleepers. The revision will update the mandatory standard to adopt ASTM F2906-2023, with appropriate modifications. The revised rule will become effective on August 5th, 2023, if there are no significant objections within 30 days.

CPSC has revised the testing method for the safety standard of cribs 16 CFR 1222 by applying the ASTM F2906-23 standard.
On May 9th, 2023, CPSC issued the final rule revising the 16 CFR 1222 “Safety Standard for Cribs,” in which this revision will update the mandatory standard to apply ASTM F2906-2023 and has been appropriately revised. If there are no significant objections within 30 days, this revised regulation will officially take effect on August 5th, 2023.
Starting from August 5th, 2023, crib products exported to the United States are required to be tested according to the 16 CFR 1222 & ASTM F2906-2023 standards and issued with a CPC certificate.
CTT is conducting research on the feasibility of implementing the new 23 standard.”
