EU Regulations of toy safety

The most important is the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC in European Union, which stipulates the quality requirements and conformity assessment procedures, all the toys entering the EU market must meet the requirements of the directive. However, the directive only deals with the main objectives and basic requirements of toys not involve technical details. Specific technical details are determined by harmonizing the standard EN 71 series and EN 62115. The EN 71 series standard specifies the requirements for physical performance, flammability, labeling, and EN 62115 specifies the safety requirements of the electric toys. In addition, toys should comply with other EU regulations, such as Reach regulations, POPs regulations, RoHS directives and so on.
