Safeguard-CTT-TT-S23004 Toy Product Recall Notification Warning – Issue 4 of 2023
During weeks 13-17 of 2023, there were a total of 54 toy recall cases reported by the EU RAPEX system. These cases were from Cyprus, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Sweden, the Netherlands, Finland, and France. The UK’s Department for Product Safety and Standards website reported 3 cases, while Canada’s Health Department website reported 2 cases, Australia’s Product Safety Recalls website reported 1 case, and the US CPSC website reported 4 cases. Except for the cases reported on Australia’s Product Safety Recalls website that did not specify the country of origin of the toys, a total of 52 cases were related to China. The reasons for the recalls included toys containing or producing small parts, excessive amounts of phthalates, and excessive migration of boron.
