The European Commission's Directorate General Enterprise and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have agreed to work more closely on toy safety in a statement signed by the two bodies today. The statement foresees stronger cooperation and more harmonised regulatory solutions, with the aim of improving levels of safety, while removing unnecessary differences in regulations that create costs for industry. According to the Commission, further "transatlantic cooperation on toys may serve as model/best practice for regulatory cooperation also in other areas."
