On September 3, 2012, ECHA launched public consultation on the 8th batch of 54 SVHC on its website. 37 substances are prepared by ECHA under the request of European Commission, and the other 17 substances are proposed by Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
The public consultation will be open for 45 days and will end on 18 October 2012. interested parties can submit their comment on the ECHA website.
In line with REACH Regulation, chemicals of SVHC existing in articles are required to be notified to ECHA if they meet the following conditions:
1. Volume of a chemical exported into EU greater than 1 ton/year and
2. Content of this chemical in articles greater than 0.1%
