On 4th, Jan, 2013, Swedish Code of Statutes (SFS) has released the regulation SFS 2012:991 that bisphenol A (BPA) may not be used in paint and coatings in food packagings for children under the age of 3. This regulation amends the regulation SFS 2006:813 and will take effect from 1st, July, 2013.
On May, 2012, Swedish Ministry of Environment announced measures to ban on BPA in food packagings for children under the age of 3.
Sweden is the fifth member state of EU to ban on BPA in specific materials and/or products after Austria, Belgium, Denmark and France.
