EN 71-4:2013, the safety standard of toys about experimental sets for chemistry and related activities released by CEN in May, 2013, is harmonized to the 2009/48/EC Directive according to the OJ news report(2013/C 149/02) published on May 28th, 2013.
The European standard EN 71-4 is intended to reduce the risks which may present health hazards to a child when the experimental sets are used as intended or in a foreseeable way, bearing in mind the normal behavior of children.
Compared to the last publication EN 71-4:2009, there are several changes in the new one besides adding crystal growing equipment set and the CO2 generating set.
