Recently, an USA toys importer was sentenced to 22 months incarceration in federal prison, three years of supervised release and a $10,000 fine in violation of CPSIA and the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.

These products allegedly presented the risk of choking, aspiration, and ingestion, and some contained lead above the federal limits.
CTT reminds relevant toys manufacturers to produce CPSIA-compliant toys and children's products into USA to avoid unnecessary loses in placing products into market of USA. Under CPSIA, total Lead (Pb) in paint and other similar surface coatings shall not exceed 90mg/kg, and not exceed 100mg/kg in accessible substrate. Meanwhile, the content of each of the specific phthalates in plastic part shall not exceed 1000mg/kg.
