Chile will enforce Regulation on the safety of products used by children

Draft regulation on the safety of products used by children was notified to WTO by Chile recently. In order to protect children's health and safety, strict safety requirements for toys, child care products and school items during their foreseeable and normal period of use, such as chemical, physical, mechanical and magnetic properties, labeling, etc. are specified in this regulation.

This regulation applies to all natural and legal persons involved or engaged in the manufacture, distribution and sale of these products in the Chile domestic market. The Final date for comments to this regulation is 4 July 2014, and proposed date of entry into force will be 180 days after publication in the Official Journal.
