Toy safety - part 1: mechanical and physical safety performance amendment EN 71-1:2011+A3:2014 was published by EU recently. There are several charges in this amendment A3.
1. Definitions of paper and paperboard are separated. The weight of paperboard is over 400 g/m².
2. Requirements to small parts in toys for children less than 36 months are amended. The main part of toys or part of toys which made by paperboard shall not be small part.
3. The key points to identify the visibility and legibility of warnings are specified in the amendment.
4. Gauss meter used to determinate the maqnetic flux of toy is described.
EN 71-1:2011+A3:2014 was added to the list of harmonised standards under 2009/48/EC on the EU Official Journal website published on June 13, 2014. It will replace EN 71-1:2011+A2:2013 and take into effect on Sep. 30, 2014.
