Rate of nickel release from the metallic parts (hooks and decorative balls) of earrings is 0.93-1.8 ug/cm2/week. And it exceed the limit of EU.Finland will prohibit to import this kind of product according to the REACH Regulation.
Germany recalled a Metal hairslide which is made in China because of the exceeding standard for release of nickel.The product named Anabel Hair-Fashion, its release of nickel is 17.2ug/cm2/week,exceeding the limit of European. Germany required to withdrawn the product from the market and recall from consumers.
The metal jewellery which contacts with the skin,its release of the nickel should not be upon 0.5 ug/cm2/week,the value should strictly limit to 0.2ug/cm2/week to the jewellery penetrating the skin that can be sold in the European market according to 94/27/EC REACH.
