The Belgian and Dutch authorities have notified the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) of their intention to nominate five substances as substances of very high concern (SVHCs) - and therefore for potential addition to the REACH Candidate List. Full dossiers are to be submitted by 2 August.
The substances are:
Belgium:
S-(tricyclo(5.2.1.0'2,6)deca-3-en-8(or 9)-yl O-(isopropyl or isobutyl or 2-ethylhexyl) O-(isopropyl or isobutyl or 2-ethylhexyl) phosphorodithioate (designatedpersistent, bioaccumulative and toxic)
Netherlands:
Cobalt diacetate (designated carcinogenic, mutagenic or reproductive toxin (CMR)
Cobalt (II) dicarbonate (CMR)
Cobalt dinitrate (CMR)
Cobalt (II) sulphate (CMR)
Earlier in July, Austria and Germany also notified their next batch of SVHC nominations. Germany also expects to submit a dossier for trioxochromium (CMR) by 2 August, which it nominated last year.
