As of 1 January 2012, the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in pacifiers and teethers prohibited in Austria. This prohibition was published in an amendment to the Federal Food Safety and Consumer Protection Act (Lebensmittelsicherheits-und Verbraucherschutz, LMSVG). This may impact harder on some Hong Kong and Chinese mainland exporters. Therefore, China manufacturers of baby products should follow this closely.
