On Nov. 17, 2011, Egypt Ministry of International Trade and Industry published tow new decrees 626/2011 and 660/2011, stipulating new provisions on textile, clothing, carpet, shoes and bags. To meet these provisions, every batch of goods has to gain a Certificate of Inspection (CoI). And CoI only can be provided by inspection body that has already accredited by ISO 17020 and that has got registration and got approval by Egypt General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).
The tow pre-mentioned decrees have been effective on June 15, 2012. After this effective day, when the products mentioned above reach Egyptian ports to be customer clearance, a CoI is required to certify that all the goods are meeting requirements of relevant standards. Here comes the point, a test report issued by an ISO 17025 accredited lab should be provided in accordance with requirements of CoI.
To help exporters to deal with the new challenges, CTT provides new testing services under relevant Egyptian standards:
1. Chemical testing for dyed, printed or finished fabrics and labeling check
2. Chemical testing for garments and labeling check
3. Chemical testing for leather, leather product and its parts
4. Physical test for shoes (including Sport shoes) and labeling check.
