EU has built up a specific mechanism to notify products violating relevant regulations and standards for the sake of consumers. In the report 33, there are 48 notifications on products from China, including 11 toys, 4 electrical and electronic products and 6 children’s clothing and others.
Notifications on toys mainly target on chemical risk of phthalates. Measures taken to these products are rejection to import, ban on sale or compulsory withdrawal. In the 11 notifications on toys, 4 were from Italy, 3 were from Hungary.
Notifications on electrical and electronic products mainly report the insufficiency of creep distance. Measures taken to these products are withdrawal from market.
Notifications on children’s clothing show the violation of drawstrings requirements. Measures taken to these products are rejection to import, ban sales, and withdrawal and recall.
