EU has built up a specific mechanism to notify products violating relevant regulations and standards for the sake of consumers. The notification for non-food consumer products is called RAPEX. According to the 30th week notification, one batches of China children’s slipper has been notified for violating the Dimethylfumarate (DMF) entry under REACH regulation. Detail information is showed below:
Bulgaria requires a batch of China children’s slipper to be withdrawn from the market for containing 285 mg/kg DMF.
In the light of REACH Annex XVII Entry 61 “Dimethylfumarate”, articles or any parts containing DMF in a concentration greater than 0.1 mg/kg shall not be placed on the market. Comparing to the limit under REACH, we can find that the content of DMF in the slipper is far greater than the regulative limit.
As a professional third testing body, CTT reminds you to keep close cooperation with relevant testing body to learn contents of hazardous substances existing in products so as to make right strategy to ensure products can smoothly enter EU market.
