September 20, 2012, EU published a new amendment No. 848/2012 to add phenylmercury entry in Annex XVII to control substances, mixtures and articles or any parts containing phenylmercuty coming into the market of EU. If the concentration of mercury in substances, mixtures and articles or any parts containing phenylmercuty exceeds 100 ppm, they shall not be placed on the market of EU.
According to No. 848/2012, this amendment enters into enforcement beginning from 20 days after the date of its publication on Official Journal. However it shall apply from 10 December 2017.
