Germany notified leather insole for containing Cr (VI)

EU has built up a specific mechanism to notify products violating relevant regulations and standards for the sake of consumers. The notification for non-food consumer products is called RAPEX. According to the 38th week notification, one China leather insole has been notified for containing Cr (VI). Detail information is showed below:

Germany requires voluntary withdrawal of one China leather insole from market for it contains 16mg/kg Cr (VI).

Chromium (VI) is classified as sensitising and may trigger allergic reactions. Germany requires content of Cr (VI) in leather product shall noe greater than 3 mg/kg, stricter than that under regulation..
