10 October 2012, Secretary-General of EU signed a decision to amend the Annex III of 2011/65/EU to add 7(c)-IV.
In light with Article 5 (1) (a), EU Commission recognizes that it is technically impracticable to replace lead in PZT based dielectric ceramic materials for capacitors which are part of integrated circuits or discrete semiconductors in resulting adapting this exemption. And this exemption expires on 21 July 2016.
This exemption is to be published on the Official Journal, and to be effective 20 days after the day of publication.
