ECHA to restrict cadmium-based pigment in plastic

ECHA calls for stakeholder to provide additional information on the use of cadmium and cadmium compounds, in particular cadmium-based pigments in plastic materials for the preparation on expanding the restriction of Cadmium under REACH.

At the beginning of this year, ECHA initiated a consultation on expanding the Cadmium restriction to all plastic materials, and have received only one piece of information about cadmium-based pigments used in plastic materials in the EU. But they believe that there shall have other companies use cadmium-based pigments too. Therefore calls for further evidence for revising the Cadmium entry.
