EU harmonized standard EN 71-12 firstly Published

EN 71-12:2013, Safety of toys - Part 12: N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances, a official test method to determinate N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances limited in EU Toys Safety Directive 2009/48/EC, was first published by CEN in June, 2013.

EN 71-12:2013 has been included as harmonised standard under Directive 2009/48/EC after being published on EU Official Journal 2013/C 187/09 on June 29th, 2013. Migrations of N-nitrosamines and N-nitrosatable substances from elastomeric toys and finger paints are determinate by HPLC-MS/MS or other similar sets that meet the requirements like detection limit under EN 71-12:2013. The scope of this standard and limits are showed in table1, and substances (included but not limit) need test are listed in table 2.
